Vantaggi
- Team mates are nice - because nobody likes management - Somewhat of a work-life balance - because they are so strict about clocking-in on time that nobody is willingly putting in extra hours
Svantaggi
- Upper and middle management are all micromanagers. Majority of managers were only promoted because everyone else leaves and not because they are actually leader and manager-material; results in things being done very inefficiently. - Bad communication by managers to their team members so nobody ever understands what is going on. Things that do not require elaboration are talked about at length multiple times in various unnecessary meetings, things that should be explained well at the beginning are constantly overlooked. - High turnovers - it is always someone's last day every other day. - I would not trust their science (and I am not the first to say so). Bad mentorship by scientists - it makes me constantly question their own understanding of scientific concepts. - You have to clock-in and out, lunch is strictly between 12-1pm - unreasonable and outdated practices; shows there is no trust in employees to do their jobs. For a period of time, pay was being deducted for every minute you were late regardless of if you made up the extra minutes or not. No exceptions made, not even in situations where it is out of your control e.g. MRT breakdowns. - You are made to submit a weekly timesheet under the guise of "resource-budgeting for projects" when realistically, time-based budgeting is not an accurate or fair method of evaluation. Just another way of monitoring every minute of your work. and so much more.
