As an individual engineer, you and your work are respected. Projects are not 'overcrowded' and 90% of engineers have their own office. Also, the company realizes that the most talented engineers have the option of working elsewhere. For that reason performance reviews occur once every 6 months. The average raise is 3 - 5% (every 6 months!). It is common for engineers to move around within the organization. The company provides a mechanism for new learning and for movement to different areas of the technology.
