- High staff turnover rate - Lack of respect or thanks from upper management - Terrible pay, much lower than market standard - Colossal pay gaps between entry level roles and management roles in light of blatant favoritism - Interns do not get paid but are expected to work as hard and as long as paid employees often working long past 5:30pm - Many health and safety issues in store and in the head office that were never addressed. Including but not limited to, zero manual handling training, fire safety training or drills and no security in store which lead to frequent thefts - You are expected to live and breathe the company, this meant working above and beyond your job role and pay grade, including working long hours, through lunch and always being on call outside your work hours - Very high stress workplace environment - Being referred to as a ‘family’ in a manipulative way to make you feel you owe them all your free time - Frequent empty promises about promotions and pay rises which is used to make people stay in smaller roles for longer - Often making everyone and anyone answer phones and emails for customer service despite this not being part of your role - No HR team which means any issues you may have are not dealt with in a professional manner and things are often discussed openly in the office where everyone can hear - No diversity in their hiring at all, not a good reflection of a ‘trendy’ London brand. This leads to a very close minded office culture. Where often disrespectful, ignorant and inappropriate things were said.
