Low-balled on pay, and didn't know for a year, because they go against federal law and insist we don't discuss salary with other employees. Found out the second year that a new no-experience employee hired same year as me was paid $2 more an hour than I was from the beginning. I asked for a raise, was begrudgingly given a 50 cent raise and told that I was now even with the others (I wasn't).
