-Management team is much less diverse & there are no female people managers in product, design, engineering & C-level. It's a hard place to be female or a person of color. Your ideas, contributions & experience are devalued. There's no way to bring up these concerns anonymously or without fear of retribution
-With no formal HR department, there's no one you can talk to whose trained in confronting bias & who you can trust will keep your conversion confidential. This is *really* hard when you're a younger/more junior employee
-You aren't setup for success. You're told what to do but held responsible when it fails. There isn't the trust & autonomy you expect at a small startup
-very high turnover - around 10 of 50 employees have left in the past few months. People leave because they're demoralized or don't have autonomy or don't have a way to advance. But even in the face of all these departures leadership hasn't stepped up to fix underlying problems.
