Vantaggi

Pretty decent pay for the actual difficulty of work being required. As a former Director used to say (often): "This isn't rocket science." You can get paid really well to coast here for years if you you're willing to give up valuable personal time. Great product potential (if leadership will actually follow through with the over-promising claims they sell their clients), most of us that aren't at the top of the pay ladder are very smart & great to work with, fairly flexible work hours & location...as long as you understand that you're expected/required/demanded in no uncertain terms to being available 24/7 for constant customer crisis with no additional compensation.

Svantaggi

Interesting rash of recent bogus positive reviews since the outsourcing & big layoffs, must be another attempt to boost public appearance of stability (and their KLAS scores). This company seems to be sliding fast towards an outright sellout and it's shaping up to look like us little people will most likely be tossed aside when leadership takes the cash & runs. Mediocre medical benefits that have recently become even more mediocre but NO 401K MATCHING!! Also, not only is there zero upward mobility here (yes, you MIGHT be able to laterally move if you're an intern or your skills transfer but there is no training or growth support offered), but there have been instances of severe pay cuts or the threat of layoff as well. The only instances of a "promotion"-type move has been if a Director or Manager leaves and someone is forced into their position to perform double-duty, prompting inevitable resignations of course. But the glaring issue is the extremely unstable product being deployed to the entire customer base due to poor regression development, lack of customer management, very poor planning & internal communication, everything being a literal last-minute emergency (again, 24/7), and no real direction or true leadership. Zero work/life balance & career development even though leadership (sort of) preaches it (only ever comes up during review periods). None but 1 of the executive team has been here for much more than a year and all but one of those new guys still reside out of state with their families. No plans to relocate to the company location you just took over is very telling. The CEO specifically racks up quite a bit in travel, hotels, & a different Cadillac every Mon-Thurs when he is in Denver, even though he claims we all of the sudden can't afford to pay for new product development and have either lost or let go of a dozen very good employees in the last 2 months. Again, priorities & direction are very clear here. Just a couple of months ago we were all told we were in a growth mode & bringing on offshore "help" to "free up time to accomplish more internally" was part of that growth with the PROMISE that "no jobs would suffer because of it" but 10-15 employees (that we know of...they don't usually publicly announce most departures) are gone since then and more work has been outsourced to India. People are disappearing weekly, including executive sales folks. We are bleeding good mid-level leadership and leaving the spoils of the inevitable sell-out to the one or two people at the top of the food chain.

This is Kathleen Brenk, CHRO. While I am grateful for your candid feedback, it is disappointing to read this review and hear this feedback for the first time in this forum rather than live in a town hall or via a 1-1 conversation which we encourage and are are entirely open to receiving. The leadership team has been very open about outsourcing efforts and the connected business reasons as well as honest about recent layoffs. It is a sad and tough thing to do. The organization must change in order grow and indeed reach the profitability you mentioned. I truly hope you and any other concerned employee will come speak with me or any member of the exec staff. We can't do it alone; we need One Recondo. This is Eldon Richards, CTO at Recondo. While I sincerely appreciate any and all honest feedback, I find it unfortunate that there is still so much misunderstanding about the state of the company and recent events, after the amount of communication that we have had in numerous forums. As Kathleen has already stated, we are always open to direct feedback and questions in private meetings and in our regular town hall meetings. We encourage open communication to allow us all to strengthen our company. The transformation that we have been undertaking for the past year includes a shift from driving products and technology from the inside out, to a customer-first, market-driven and outside-in approach. The executive team members who spend the most time with clients are appropriately located in various cities around the country, and those of us whose responsibilities are primarily internal are located in Denver where we can stay connected with the day-to-day operations of the company. We have implemented a number of organizational and process changes as we seek to unlock the huge potential within Recondo. Some of those changes have included reductions and outsourcing as we have rebalanced and retooled our workforce to improve our focus and to increase bandwidth for critical functions. Those changes do not include moving our Tier 1 and 2 support offshore, nor do they include moving the 'rest of Development, QA, Operations and Support' by the end of the year. Rather, they include things like building up a formal QA organization that didn't exist before and significantly increasing bandwidth to maintain and improve our market-leading business rule libraries and credential stores. We have seen tremendous progress as a result of these changes and the untiring work of our employees at all levels in the company. We have witnessed incidents drop by an order of magnitude, with a corresponding drop in off-hours support requirements for employees. We have also observed an order of magnitude improvement in product release quality. In addition, we have recently released a new ground-breaking product that leverages our significant strengths and intellectual property to address a key market need for pricing transparency. Customers are taking note about the changes that they are seeing. We are receiving improved feedback about customer satisfaction, higher renewal rates, better retention and more cross-selling than before these changes were put in place. As other employees have posted in this forum already, we are also seeing greater traction in new sales as our word-of-mouth reputation has improved. Our employees have noticed these improvements as well. Coworkers regularly come to my office to talk about how much better things have become and how excited they are about the future that is shaping up for Recondo. They are excited about the training that we have provided for leadership skills, communication skills and new processes. I invite you to talk things out with your manager or a member of the executive team so we can come to terms with the vastly different perceptions that have been communicated here and to help us build a stronger Recondo.

Vantaggi

I worked in a small department that has since been dissolved. While I was there, the flexibility and understanding of my direct boss was incredible. The Agile environment is one of the best I've experienced. There were a lot of changes happening, but some of the root dedication to excellence remained. Also, based on a lot of feedback from interns, the pay and learning experience is great for college students. Some of the work is busy work since there isn't a real relationship with providers, but that's the nature of the Health Care industry.

Svantaggi

Some of the cons I have experienced probably relate to the healthcare industry rather than Recondo itself. Another review mentioned the consistent 'crisis' mode. I can see that, but I feel that the this is the result of poor forecasting of future customer needs, and an attempt to be flexible with short term notice, even though the infrastructure doesn't support that style of development (from the top).

This is great feedback. Our entire exec team watches Glassdoor, so I'm sure your thoughts will be discussed. Since we recently restructured for our future, we have combines some teams and made other changes to prepare for growth and the nature of constant healthcare innovation you wrote about. Thanks again. Good stuff we can work on!
