- November 2014 employee satisfaction survey resulted in 80% staff participation--100% of staff was 'satisfied' or 'very-satisfied' with their overall work experience. 94% of staff indicated that 'Teamwork is positively impacting SWANA's performance.' - Great staff; collegial association atmosphere. - Opportunity to make of your role with this organization what you want to get out of it. Excellent first job for new graduates as well as mid- and director-level positions. - Pay IS commensurate with your performance. GREAT performers and team players ARE valued and recognized by managers. Annual increases are average to above average--for those who are dedicated and work hard. - Comp days for working annual events that fall over a weekend. - Monthly birthday celebrations as well as staff recognition program offering free lunches and accolades for recipients.

- Every staff has it's quirks and employees with unique work styles/personalities; SWANA is absolutely no different from any other organization. Current staff wear many hats, works hard, and plays well together. SWANA is not without hiccups but such incidents are episodic and senior management address issues as needed. - Multiple events in spring and large show in fall means long hours for many staff during the planning and promotion of these events but given the salary and support of senior management.

Current CEO (not David Biderman) who started in 2023 does not embody the SWANA values. She cultivates an environment of fear, unnecessary scrutiny, and blame. Environment with continual inconsistency resulting in a lack of focus on operations and follow-through since there are too few staff to do the work, and the direction and priorities are constantly changing. Overworked and understaffed with constant chaos.
