Nice coworkers but other than that nothing else

I worked at Set The Pace for less than a week, and it was enough to show me how unprofessional, manipulative, and downright bizarre this company is. From day one, there were red flags. I quickly learned the company uses manipulative psychological tactics to pressure people into buying products. My team leader taught us to lie to customers about feedback and create a false sense of urgency to make sales. It felt dirty, unethical, and far from the relationship building they claimed to focus on. To make matters worse, they consistently made people stay after hours for unnecessary “evaluations” without any real value, normalising these ridiculous hours (9:30 am to 7:00 pm, minimum). The culture was cult-like, with fake positivity and forced competitiveness. The final straw was when I was lied to about my pay. I was told I’d be paid by the end of the week, only to find out later it would be delayed another week, clearly a tactic to string employees along. Their refusal to cover basic expenses like transportation and meals added to the frustration, as did the expectation to meet on Zoom over the weekend. Overall, this company thrives on deception, manipulation, and exploitation. If you’re looking for a healthy, professional work environment, steer clear of Set The Pace.
