Thank you for taking the time to share detailed feedback and for your years with our team. We value input that reflects both strengths and concerns.
We’re glad you’ve had positive experiences with our freight, customer base, routing flexibility, and the autonomy drivers have when it comes to weather and health-related shutdowns. Respecting driver judgment and prioritizing safety are core to how we operate.
Rider Policy: Sharkey does offer a rider policy. After just 90 days, drivers may welcome one approved rider at no additional charge. Riders must be an immediate family member and at least 10 years of age.
Additional Benefits: We offer a Longevity Bonus paid annually on each driver’s anniversary. Many drivers choose to use this bonus toward personal time off.
Support Beyond Dispatch: Drivers work with a dedicated dispatcher by design, as consistency matters. Drivers also have access to a Driver Liaison, with escalation paths through Operations, our Director of Fleet Operations, our Vice President of Operations, and ultimately ownership if needed.
Equipment & Safety Concerns: We encourage all team members to report any safety or equipment concerns immediately. These reports are taken seriously and reviewed through appropriate channels so issues can be addressed responsibly.
We recognize that we’re not perfect. Trucking is a demanding industry, and we continue to evaluate equipment, processes, benefits, and retention strategies. Creating an environment where drivers feel supported and respected is critical to long-term success.
Sharkey Transportation has been in business since 1971, and that longevity comes with both responsibility and opportunity. We don’t take feedback like this lightly—it helps guide internal conversations and reinforces where we must continue to improve for the people who keep our freight, and our reputation, moving.
We appreciate your perspective and your belief that Sharkey can continue to improve. Our goal is to live up to that expectation.
