Vantaggi
- Excellent learning environment. Everyone is always willing to help and coach as needed.
- Great opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs on how to run a company. Due to the nature of the relationships built with clients, you have the opportunity to understand how many different companies are run and operated aside from just ShopSocially.
- You will develop a deep understanding of the online marketing industry (assuming you have the fundamentals already down).
- Solid work life balance. Hours are relatively flexible and you can take time off as needed. Workload can be intense during the hours you're at the office, but you won't be a slave to the company.
- You have the ability to give feedback and input that will affect the overall growth of the company. It's great to see ideas turn into reality.
- Excellent execution. The engineering team does a fantastic job at executing tasks and the business team is hungry to make things happen.
- Fast-paced environment - things move and change quickly.
- Employees are treated with respect.
tl;dr - It's a great place for an individual to jump start and develop their career path. The company isn't at a point where it needs to give "career tips" to individuals and have "employee development" programs. It's a place to hustle, get stuff done, and grow at an accelerated pace.
Svantaggi
- Not a "fun" start up. This isn't a place where you socialize in the kitchen, play games when you're bored, or go to happy hours throughout the week. Aside from being given what you need to survive (paid for full health, dental) and unlimited water/coffee/tea, there are no fancy "perks." It's a place where you have your head down to make things happen. It's a great place to build solid skill sets while given an opportunity to really control your own life. It's not for the weak minded or slacker mentality.
- Training is limited and you are expected to learn how to walk and run on your own. However, door is always open and any is accessible for any questions.
- If you don't know how to hustle or aren't a self-motivator, you'll constantly feel like you're left behind.
tl;dr - It's a work focused company, not a fun focused one.
