Vantaggi
Amazing people at the company- truly talented team.
Svantaggi
Smartcar is a sinking ship. Leadership has repeatedly ignored valuable feedback from customers and prospects, trying to launch innovation initiatives far too late. The product suffers from weak market fit, making it nearly impossible to hit sales targets or achieve OTE. The tipping point for me was the layoffs. Just two weeks before Christmas, 70% of the North American business development and sales team were laid off without any justification other than "role elimination." This included 5 out of 7 team members, many of whom were top quota achievers. The layoff was cold, scripted, and lacked transparency—completely contradictory to the company's once-employee-focused values. The work culture has deteriorated significantly. Leadership disregards working hours, regularly expects employees to be available on weekends, and shows little regard for employee well-being. The CEO, in particular, is in dire need of HR training and has a habit of speaking poorly to employees, further eroding morale. Smartcar’s struggles are glaring, and its leadership team is crumbling under the pressure. If you're considering joining this company, be prepared for a toxic environment, unattainable quotas, and a lack of stability. It’s a shame, as the company once had potential but has gone downhill at an alarming rate.
