The organization largely offers substance abuse treatment services to their clients. They mostly treat those with opiate dependence but also treat other substance abuse diagnosis through other programs offered. The services that the organization offers are of great value to community serving a need that is growing throughout the country. They offer LOTS of options for treatment including Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Residential Treatment for pregnant women with children, Supportive Independent Living, and Community Support Services. Also, Primary Care but it's largely ignored by other employees as it is not considered to be a necessary/productive service. Not too much micro-management, although it is present. Management was very flexible with time off for family, sick leave, etc. FREE bottled water. LOL

The management team presents as very enthusiastic, open-minded, welcoming and supportive but quickly settle into their roles within a "cult-like" atmosphere. That culture includes about 90+% women of a total 150+ employees! I'll let you do the "emotional math". Needless to say, if you are a male, it WILL break you quickly. BTW, top management has likely continued for around 8 years because, well, it's a Good 'ol Boy network. Otherwise, top management would likely be replaced as it is widely opposed by employees who regularly talk behind their back about the lack of management skills, impersonal style of communication and mid-management being puppet...all true. Top management is DEF visionary with great ideas but no money or plan to support them, which leaves these ideas to be laughed about by others. If any of these genius ideas ARE supported, changes are made and implemented only to have additional change requested immediately after the launch. CRAZY!! It seemed that top management job security was directly linked to the amount of problems to be solved, so problems were constantly being created (daily "fires to be put out"). As a result, the team morale is VERY low at all sites. The mood of the organization is infectious. You can see in the employee's faces that they HATE being at work and confirm same when you talk with them. There is constant talk of low pay and non-existent pay raises, which inevitably over-flows into the quality of care that clients receive...average at best on their good days. They tend to rope in new employees with promises of compensating results after a period of time only to "re-evaluate" at the end of that period and re-define "results" seemingly to save money. The mindset reflects a "Poorly Paid Work Horse Model". Their are good people in the organization but most lack passion, are over worked, and underpaid UNLESS, of course, you are a member of top management. That can only be explained by their $1 mil+ debt that no one speaks of realistically. Even worse, they continue to increase in debt by $120+K monthly with no solid plan to reverse the effects. They regularly apply for grants to pay off debt and then mislead the grant organizations on how the money was spent (other reviews confirm same). All these actions in the midst of constantly being audited regularly for lack of clinical documentation and general quality of treatment provided. Lastly, the medical benefits package is horrible and their reimbursement for mileage is less than $.30/mile!
