You’ll enjoy your first month or two but quickly you’ll discover this is not a company that will ever put it’s staff first. Opportunities will be dangled in front of you but there will be every reason why they don’t want you to progress. The ethos of the company is morally sound but there has been little to no investment into bringing in good managers to inspire teams and motivate individuals. Have a bad week, have some time off or just not feeling at 100% and you will be isolated and frozen out. Yes it’s sales and yes it’s competitive but there is no need to treat your members of staff in this way. There’s a reason why there is such a huge amount of people that they recruit because an even bigger amount leave. For many this is seen as a stop gap or a covid job, but had I known what it was really like I would have preferred to have been unemployed than work for them.

A management team that seem to make people Disappear who disagree with them. A management team that enjoy humiliating and putting down their members of staff in front of the team. A company that asks for optional feedback and then gets everyone in groups of 5 and demands that they then share their experiences irrespective of the staffs clear discomfort. The kind of company that monitors slack channels so nobody conversations are private and employees lose their abilities to vent. The sort of company that promotes those who have been there the longest and not others who deserve it more on merit. To make matters worse you’re getting £18,000 per year. The role is easy it’s not hard, anyone could do it. But the wage is not enough for the mental pressure, scrutiny and mental abuse you will feel throughout this role. Like many of my colleagues I am waiting for the moment I can hand in my notice and be rid of this experience.
