Sunrise Services is a dream internship for mental health therapist interns who are doing an internship in conjunction with grad school. The therapist supervisor Amanda, is one of the most caring, helpful, and flexible supervisors amongst supervisors that the rest of my cohort has. Amanda will go out of her way to help you succeed in any way she can, and is flexible with any size of caseload that your school's internship requires. There are four amazing admins who will help you with anything that you need; scheduling clients, sending and receiving letters, finding supplies for you, anything you need to make your internship easier or save you time. Many other internships have difficulty providing interns with clients, but this is no problem whatsoever at sunrise services. Amanda has no problem providing you as many additional clients as you need, and there is no obligation or pressure to take on more clients than you are comfortable with.

The only con I can think of is the air conditioning being a little bit lousy, and rooms can be a little bit too hot or cold. You can bring in your own heating or cooling units though, so this isn't really a problem. Many of the counseling rooms are small, however you can arrange and decorate it however you like.

If you are white this company will be great for you. If you identify as mixed racially, Native American, or Black you will be human trafficked.

They will demand you work without pay, but will pay your white collueges. If you become pregnant and are unmarried they will write you up and take away all your benefits for the entire duration of your pregnancy placing you on a 9 month probation so you can't accumulate any time off. If you find out the stealth trans person is trans and bring it up they will fire you. The stealth trans person is super abusive to people of color. This person will tell you they had a hysterectomy and minimize you as a woman, telling you period cramps aren't real or painful and that if you wear pants "your acting like a man". This person might also talk about how you don't sound like a woman of you don't speak in a high pitched baby voice. If you are a person of color be prepared to be Human Trafficked and possibly sex traffcked.
