Svantaggi
The culture here is awful. Everyone is fake Seattle nice and are snakes as soon as you are 4ft away. You can be sitting at your desk and someone will literally start talking about you. "Freakishly Friendly" not a chance. I have people with no experience in the career dictating major decisions. Because they have no experience or social skills they are just rude and angry. The pay here is terrible now that the stock is worth half. Most days I starve working here because the pay with the total compensation is not affordable for Seattle. Getting in and out of Fremont is a disaster. Can't even afford dental work. To get a cavity fixed with our insurance they charged me $450.00 Management is awful everywhere. It takes 30 meetings to accomplish simple tasks. It reminds me of Office Space, I wonder how many times a day my boss who knows nothing will walk by just to distract me and take me out of any mode of work I might of gotten into. No one can make a decision and stick to it. I had senior leadership buy off in meetings that where recorded on video, and later the senior leader denied every saying anything or agreeing to work. very bizarre. Common feeling among current employers... The new CEO is just here to buy Tableau on the cheap from the inside out for Amazon. My guess is by Christmas if the stock keeps decreasing they are going to fire a ton of people and this will just be the big data product for Amazon. Office environment is horrible. Basically computer geeks who are used to low light and basement dwellings are subjected to living on the surface of the sun. I get migraines from the open environment due to sunlight beaming directly in my eye, screen is hard to read. Really really loud. Between phone conversations, side conversations, you can't think. If you put on headphones I guarantee within 180 seconds someone will tap you on your shoulder. Did I mention the pay is terrible? A recruiter called last week from a competitor and starting pay is $35K more than I make now... That's without the extras, just the base. They denied almost all training this year even though it was promised at the beginning of the year. So no career growth. It feels like it should be called Nordstrom a Division of soon to be Amazon. My pay raise after a year was $2,800. Which if you factor that in is literally nothing after taxes and divided by 20 odd paychecks. You don't even see it. The RSU's are a joke. Good luck ever cashing one out. Say it matures in May, they might let you cash it out by August. Then they will take 40% of it. 60 hour work weeks from sitting in useless meetings.
