Mostly the staff at ground level were great people with good knowledge. Found some very good friends there.

- Benefits - there are literally none. No pension, no milk in the kitchen, no staff events, minimal legal holiday allowance, no bonuses, no pay rises, poor work/life balance. - training - also abysmal. Seems to be no external budget for training, and internally there are too few people to provide any formal training. Staff have to learn their own way even on basic things such as how to use a system or where files are stored. - equipment is horrendously old and not invested in. Even office staff are working off tiny, 5+ year old laptops. One IT guy who sits in Israel and is seemingly unavailable no matter how urgent the query. Unwilling to outsource any IT maintenance. - Confidentiality/proper HR support does not exist. E.g. other staffs disciplinary actions discussed, confidential paperwork left lying around, colleagues salaries are made crystal clear. Cannot take any time off without being asked by 'HR' to divulge full details of how you will be using your annual leave (even when it concerns personal matters), and this is then discussed with other colleagues. - no official messaging/support from senior staff. All sat in other countries, ignoring what's going on. E.g. salaries paid late on more than one occasion - no (yes literally NO) communication about this other than gossip from low level management. No internal news passed around, no knowledge sharing. No formal introductions to any senior staff when you join. - the financial situation is of the greatest concern. As you can probably guess from the above, the company is doing very poorly and simply not winning work with clients. Rent on the office not paid, leading to staff being locked out. HMRC payments not made, leading to bailiffs arriving at the office. Head office seem to have the funds but are completely unwilling to protect their other offices. All of this contributes to staff feeling ignored, not cared about and disposable. Despite what they want you to believe, you really do feel your job is constantly on the line.

Mostly I would like to back the extremely anonymous review by the Director from the New York office. You are given more than a chance in this company; you are handed the responsibility to break barriers and reach uncharted territory, both professionally and in a personal sense. You get so much space - but then there is always someone who makes sure you don't float out into it and grounds you. At the highest level, the direction and feedback you will get (and you will get it) is an often surprising mix of open-mindedness and very blunt, pointed directness. If you can take constructive criticism for what it is, and at the same time maintain patience with some of the administrative hurdles that can come along the way, you are bound to develop both personally and professionally. They key factor, though, is that success or failure depends on you - not entirely, but to a very large extent. You will have a real say and will make a real impact. To me, that fact alone merits Tefen 5 stars.

Tefen is a family, and like any family it is imperfect. Still, though, I can not imagine a better place to grow.

- Maybe you get lucky and meet people at other places to work. - The other consultants in the office and people that do the day-to-day work are all bright and enjoyable to work with.

- Salary is paid monthly, not twice/month like most other consulting firms. - Salary is often paid in the WRONG amount. - Expenses are often late and wrong; in some cases expenses NEVER get reimbursed. - Internal systems don't exist to support expense management, time reporting, and other HR practices that are standard at other firms. - In the U.S., the company pails in comparison to other consulting firms. Pursuits are not 'sold' on the work of the company but rather falsely led to believe the company is capable of work it is not. The company is desperate for any and all business and struggles to get even that. - Management is not interested in the growth of it's employees, just about making sales and farming out consultants. - The company does not have a proper office, it's essentially a closet in another company's office. There are no windows, and two small rooms to work in. This is no place to work. - Management if of the opinion they can BS their way through any project. They have no integrity as a consulting firm and represent everything wrong with the industry.
