Decisions are highly political. Do not expect career advancement whatsoever. Managers are clueless about employee performance. It means good employees are treated the same way as bad ones. The workplaces are horrible (no a/c). Don't expect to be recognized for your good work. At first I was very proud to work for a University, but I quickly had a reality check and found a pathetic place to work. 80%+ employees are only there to cash in their salary until retirement time. New ideas and innovations are discouraged. People put more energy on complaining then on working. They all are dreaming about retiring the sooner they can. Finally, union is absolutely unnecessary and prevent good employees to be rewarded. They are only protecting old workers retirement by cutting young professional benefits.
