Vantaggi

Everyone was making lots of money and enjoying their work. Engineers helped each other on projects and enjoyed discussing solutions. There was a top notch softball team, weekly basketball pick up, and spirited nightly outings.

Svantaggi

Things took a turn when Vector hired many new people and then two years later there was the economic down turn in 2008. Then Vector sold itself to Ausenco. This was the beginning of the end.

Vantaggi

In my experience, the best part of working here in this position is that the Manager directly over you understands what it's like to work in the field, and so long as you do the est you can, he's very fair and understanding when it comes to trying to balance a personal life with your work responsibilities. THat's a huge plus in this line of work.

Svantaggi

Upper management can be a little flighty and unprofessional. Others might read ity as a "relaxed enviromnet." (Everyone's dogs are wandering the halls in the office, for example. Not necessarily a bad thing, but a little odd.) They tend to leave a lot of money on the table when negotiating contracts with clients, which rolls downhill onto the field personnel, meaningless per diem sometimes, or less free time, or lower vehicle allowances. Since selling out to Ausenco (their parent company) the company has been becoming increasingly more of a homogeneous corporate entity, and less of the close-knit-family enviroment it used to have. Some people like this, some people don't.
