Vantaggi
- Several allowances (book, gym, child care, training) - End of Year Bonus - WFH once at week, or two for those who live a certain distance In my case I had three different clients since I've started: - They were good clients, with good treatment toward the offshore team members. - With my previous and current project, I had/have a said when it comes to take design decisions. Flexibility at the moment to implement a change for a requirement (it wasn't just stories/tickets assigned to me that I had to follow in certain ways, I had the chance to think, design and implement the solution -which makes it less boring for a mind like mind) - Last two years my previous client, and with this one: I learnt a lot, new technologies, new frameworks, finally started working with Java 8 actually (not just using it but writing Java 6/7 like code). - My current client is always up-to-speed with new technologies, which increases our knowledge and experience. - I've been promoted 3 times since I started working 3 years ago. - I can't complain about the salary, nor the salary increases. - The office is well located - We had a 360 evaluation/review every year, mandatory: you had to evaluate the people your work with directly: the ones in charge of you, the ones working with you for the same client/project, the people working below you if any; this made the process fairer, since the result of the evaluation wasn't tied to one person's "point of view"/"sympathy" for you (till December 2017).
Svantaggi
- Some people never get promoted (I know of people who've been there for almost the same time as I been, but still haven't been promoted once, and not for lack of skills or anything like that) - Some people were promoted, and actually didn't fit the seniority or position - Some people who are poorly skilled programmers and lacking a lot of knowledge, were hired with high seniorities (causing the actual good ones that were hired with less seniorities to feel uneasy). - The career path was actually short, not much of options to follow or growth. (The company has joined another, Endava: we don't know how the reviews and career growth is going to be from now on) - There are a couple of projects with really old technologies, like legacy projects, which is not only boring, but it makes one to feel like quieting (they can't learn nothing new)
