Well, here, everyone is from Belgaum, from the founders to the management. So, evidently, if you’re from Belgaum and friends with the founders, you’ll grow no matter how much you mess up at work. There are people from Belgaum whose roles have changed to other departments and even their sub companies multiple times simply because they weren’t good enough at any of them. The moral of the story is: if you’re from Belgaum and friends with the founders, you’re allowed to fail repeatedly without consequences. There are also individuals in the company who are openly rude, with multiple complaints raised against them and yet they continue to stay without facing any repercussions. The company has two COOs who act like team players, but it’s obvious they’re not aligned with each other. The top management can be incredibly rude and act entitled. They expect you to be available 24/7, but when it comes to compensation, they make you feel like you need to beg for it. If you work on weekends, they “allow” you comp-offs, but behave like they’re doing you a huge favor. And the comp-off rules are so impractical that most of them expire before you can actually use them. Instead of solving hiring issues, they push all the burden onto existing employees. If you raise this with the management, the response is usually, “Even I’m working, this is the industry norm.” Sure, if I were paid a COO-level salary, I’d work all seven days too. You can’t raise any issues because decision makers get defensive, as if listening to employee concerns would hurt their ego. The founders still seem to care, but the rest of the management appears driven more by ego than empathy. My manager has no power and everything happens as the management wishes. The company structure changes every 6 months, and employees are expected to adapt from day one, even when there’s no clarity about which team you’re in or what your exact role is. Employees hired at low salaries while working remotely are now being forced to move to Bangalore. But some “special” employees continue to work from home year-round. So, in terms of fairness don’t expect any. With the exception of a few senior folks, the company lacks empathetic leadership. Most are obsessed only with numbers and revenue. The level of bias here is off the charts. If you’re someone who can stay unaffected by these things and just want to work at a place that looks cool on the internet but is internally hollow, then yes, please do join.
