Vantaggi
Great people! Awesome kitchen (Ice cream fridge, Real-Pro coffee machine, Soda tap and lots of thing that will get your weight up, including a lot of Vegan stuff). The job is very challenging, the code is extremely complicated. Working with JS, TS, Angular, .Net, HTML, CSS, AWS, Jenkins, Gitlab, Consul, Vault, and a ton more ranging from simple to high end. Walkme is very good to employees it wishes to keep, with great benefits and salaries increase, bonuses, RSUs and Options, and the room to advance in your profession or to change career entirely inside the company is terrific (I started as an IT, finished a 1 year code course, and Walkme OPENED a junior full-stack position for me in one of the most complex teams possible in RnD!). There are weekly launch-and-learn sessions passed by top developers inside the company that really crank up the expertise as a developer. Being a developer at Walkme really pushes one to the limit, requiring continuous learning and improving. The peripheral equipment is excellent, with great monitors, standing desks, docking stations, dual-monitor setups for home, great keyboard and mouse (wireless). Work from home is completely flexible and dependent on the your team leader. ESPP Program with max benefits a company can offer. HitechZone, showers, Pilates, Freefit, Monday-to-Tuesday breakfasts, Multiple coffee and water spots around the office, and great looking offices.
Svantaggi
New employees don't always get a brand new laptop (which is fine), but whatever laptop you get, you keep for 4 years, and unless it dies, or you wish to switch from Win to Mac or the other way around, you cannot get a new one. The salaries compared to other big companies are average, at best, leaving alot to be desired. There is no yearly salary increase and no proper procedure for requests, meaning if you don't request a raise, you are very likely never to get one. Bonuses are a hit-and-miss kind of situation: the rules are unclear and the result is unpredictable, even though it should have been. A vast majority of the code is very old and no one dares to modify, and some of it is like "magic" that is so complex to understand, passing different projects and different things that it can sometimes be extremely frustrating to handle. There is no Mentorship program that will get a developer from good to excellent. Even though the company went through IPO and you can feel the Corporate spirit getting a hold, with more procedures and proper bureaucracy , there is still a lot of politics that can make a person feel less comfortable.
