- You usually begin by applying to jobs on the job board; Applying to jobs is a tedious task and you might have to apply to 20+ jobs or more to gain a single student request. You will need to check your profile multiple times a day for job postings. - It can take months to get your first lesson... especially if you have no lessons previously tutored or any reviews. Reviews help alot. - There is also a huge amount of competition from other tutors in your subjects. - While degrees are not required only recommended, you must be approved in all subjects you tutor by submitting written qualifications or by passing a subject test. - Not everyone who applies to Wyzant is approved as a tutor. They have a filter for new applicants in that you will need to write a bio of your qualifications, and you have a limited amount of attempts to succeed.
