Vantaggi

Great, capable people everywhere. Zoomer going out of business might suggest otherwise, but I would attribute that more to a big shift in the investor market as well as the fact that countless competitors emerged into the food delivery market, including behemoths like Uber and GrubHub. What Zoomer loses here will be others' gain; a lot of fantastic folks just hit the job market and pound-for-pound I doubt you'll find people more devoted or hard-working. This wasn't a laid-back 9-to-5 environment filled with people watching the clock to go home. People worked well together and went hard to the paint to help Zoomer succeed.

Svantaggi

Ratings-wise I'd knock a little off for weaker compensation and benefits, a necessity given budget constraints. It was a startup, after all. On balance, no regrets. Took a big swing and just didn't get there, was great to be a part of it. A cautionary tale for others: the contract-driver industries are everywhere and you're always vulnerable to forces beyond your control.

Vantaggi

Most people are super positive & engaged, excited about their role and dedicated to the cause. Typical startup enthusiasm. There are lip sync competitions and giphy games. Benefits are good. Short/long term disability & life insurance premiums covered. Medical/dental/vision. Great vacation - they call it "unlimited" bc you'll be busting your butt most of the time anyway. I got 4 weeks off (equivalent of 20 business days) in my first year. Plus ability to work remotely at times allows you to still travel while working. Opportunities to get your fingers into lots of pots if you want to; adaptability and versatility is prized in employees. Creativity and achievements are rewarded with public praise. If you do well you may be rewarded with opportunity to move up. Everybody supports each other and we've hit some pretty exciting goals.

Svantaggi

Disorganized sometimes. Changes in process or structure happen very quickly sometimes with little notice. Lack of performance review, feedback, or coaching. Company culture is very familial. Sometimes I wonder why the tech products don't get developed faster. No 401(k) options offered. Be prepared for taking random days/times off instead of the usual evenings & weekends. All-in mentality. I like it but sometimes it the odd hours get tiring and you'd rather be at a happy hour. Lack of job security. Several rounds of layoffs and reorganization make one question the solidity of the company's future. Unless you work at HQ you will rarely see another employee except on weekly conference calls. A lot of people work remotely. People's roles change so frequently sometimes it's hard to keep track of who to ask certain questions.
