1. A family company. Many are related either by blood or by connection. - Those who are related have more perks (I.e. take leave with no limit, attend courses for upskilling), but those without connections are often left behind. - You have to watch what you say to some colleagues as they might be related to C-suite management. Can be highly political 2. No structured / clear career progression plans - Not a place for fresh grads or middle management looking to accelerate their career - Management does not care about your growth, but only thinks about the company. Will use any resource permanently to fit into literally any role that is required. 3. Toxic management - Only care about expanding the business and coming up with new things constantly, even when the existing businesses are not doing well and things are a mess - Management does not have any skillsets, but only focused on talking and pleasing people above with words - Drop you a message in the wee hours of the night (I.e 2am or even 7am) asking you to come into on the same day at 9am - Organise meetings and be late for their own meetings or not turn up - Priorities are changed completely every 8 hours and everything is “top priority” to management. There is an inability to prioritise and to stay rooted and expand on a single business (e.g the number of subsidiaries IAPPS have) - Talk down to you as though whatever you have done is insignificant - Led to super high turnover rate within a very small company, to the extent where even some family members have left the organisation for greener pastures 4. NO BONUS. Please check very carefully if they tell you there is! 5. No company benefits. - Company benefits vary across time and the different products / business they decide to launch. The clear intention is to get customers to use their product rather than to benefit the employee.
