they are extremely micromanaging and listen to every single call, to see if you are following their script word for word. God forbid if you read it out of order or you miss a sentence. they want you to be a level 1 tech with the experience of a level 3 tech. oh, and theirs no place to move up. you will have the same job at the same salary for as long as you are there.

outsourceIT is a great place for anyone looking to get their feet wet with IT or experienced administrators looking for a challenge. There is always something to work on and the teamwork there is outstanding! Between the diverse variety of clients and staff, you are sure to learn something from everyone there. There is good communication between management and staff, as well as monthly events for everyone to unwind.

Just be prepared to work hard and learn quickly! You will be placed on an on-call rotation after your first few months so don't expect to get a lot of sleep that week.

When I first started at outsource, there was no training, and then I was eventually thrown into the phone queue. Sometimes you would get 30 calls a day and you would have no breaks to even solve each problem. It would just pile on your ticket board and then you would get harassed to hurry and resolve the tickets. Since there was no training, sometimes you could ask questions and ask for help and people would be kind and give help. But other times people were very mean and condescending when asking questions, and often question my intelligence. Employees higher in the company were treated with more respect and more leniency. They were many times I tried to take off for personal reasons, and I was not allowed because higher-ups were out of office. But that’s because they were allowed to pick their own hours but everyone else was on a very strict nine hour schedule. Because of this in my entire six months of working here, I only took off twice. The first time I took off, I was scheduled for on-call for the first time. I requested off for my baby sisters birthday , and during the entire night of the party the management sent test emergency calls which removed me from my sister’s birthday several times, and I had already taken this off in advance and I let them know I would be attending a child’s party. There were no real alerts that night. Only ones that management had initiated. I got rear ended pretty hard, I thought I broken bones and I had whiplash. I asked to work remotely for a couple days. I was told I could only work remotely for two days because the highest management didn’t like when I worked remotely, which only happened on one other occasion. When I returned from the accident, I was told my car looked pretty good for getting hit. Thankfully my car did not have damage but two question if I got hit was very condescending. I only had two on-call schedules because that was my last straw before I left. While working on call, you are scheduled for an entire week. You are expected to pick up calls at any hour of the night while also being expected to show up at work and work nine hours the next day. On the weekends you are also expected to make yourself available at any time of the day and be prepared to provide service. I already work 45-55 hours a week and you want me to stay home when I’m not working and be prepared to work?? For $100 extra in my paycheck? I felt belittled by management on a daily and watched others get belittled on by management on the daily. I started to feel very depressed working here. There was no work life balance, and every day I knew I was gonna have to go in and deal with people being condescending and belittling. And on top of that have to deal with a massive amount of phone calls and tickets. There was also times I was assigned other task, such as running the ticket board and assigning tickets or to setting up 30 different laptops but you are expected to stay on the phone and accept calls while doing other task. It’s really hard to get things done in a timely manner when you are not able to just focus on one thing at a time. It’s one thing to multitask. It’s another thing when you are bombarded with work and aren’t able to focus on one item and finish before your expected to start the next. And if things were done in a timely manner, you would hear about it from the upper management.
