I basically said it wasn't my decision right to choose projects of production and optimization over a realized process safety risk. I frequently give recommendations on whether to extend safety projects out, but ultimately think it's my supervisor's (maybe not even his decision right either) to decide, as him and the plant manager are the ones saying it's okay to operate without mitigation.
