Share Incentive Plan

this is what we had before with the asda share savers. now that the company is being bought its a bit unstable

You can buy into share plans. I am currently on a 3-year share plan where you can buy shares at a 20% discount. It is taken directly from your pay and you can choose how much you want to contribute towards it.

This was not properly explained by senior staff members

I believe this used to exist, but then got axed, or severely curtailed. Not entirely sure, but do recollect some rumblings of discontent among those that earned enough to participate in such things.

Shares are at their lowest in years due to poor sales and poor performance.

Complicated. It works like a savings scheme. Bit once you read the small print and do your sums you realise you've put away money with Asda for a while but gained no interest on it, and that is before you actually get any shares. Doesn't seem worth it. Looks like a scheme to just get back some of your hard earned washes to top up their bank account.
