Wrote up a pretty detailed solution, they didn't even email me back or tell me why my solution wasn't satisfactory. Thanks for the waste of my time.

They ask for an in memory cache, which makes sense. If you understood it as CPU level probably they had good reasons not getting back to you, sorry.
