      The process was clear, well-structured, and moved at a reasonable pace. I received an invite for an interview. The first stage was a conversation with someone from the People team. The second was a two-part assessment: Part 1 was a take-home submitted within 72 hours, and Part 2 was a 4-hour live exercise presented to a panel. Each stage tested technical depth, behavioural fit (ALU culture and mission alignment), and the ability to think on your feet in case scenarios, and notably, the Part 1 assignment reflected the actual work I'd be doing in the role. The next stage was an interview with senior leadership, followed by a final conversation with the People team, which led to an offer. End-to-end, the process took a few weeks. Overall, it was a meaningful experience. Through each stage, I gained a real sense of the institution, how the team collaborates, and the values they look for in a candidate. It felt like a two-way street; as much as they were interviewing me, I was also evaluating them. ALU's process is designed not just to assess candidates but also to help them assess whether ALU is right for them. I found that approach commendable and insightful.

      Be ready to speak with real examples from your work, not just theory. The interviewers dug into specifics and follow-up questions. The written assessment tested practical problem-solving under a tight deadline, and the panel presentation tested how well you could defend your thinking live.
