      Colloquio

      I reached out to them directly based on a posting on their site. HR was relatively responsive, initially it took 6 days to contact me and then it was about 3-6 days between follow up emails. Application to interview was about 15 days. When I was contacted to interview the invite for the next day. I declined and scheduled for the following week. The interview was on zoom. The interviewer was pleasant and on time. She talked about the direction of the company and explained the role & responsibilities. I was asked about inventory strategy and about myself. Overall the meeting was light but lacking depth as one might expect from a first interview. At the end of the interview, I received the interviewer's contact information and was told to expect an invite for the following week to meet with the owners. It has been about nine months since the interview and I haven't heard from them since. I sent two follow up emails after the interview too. To be fair, I was over-qualified for the role and there was likely a large pool of qualified candidates. However, ghosting people who invest in the hiring process is unprofessional and inexcusable considering sending a template rejection email is practically effortless. A colleague reported the same pattern of behavior with his interview process too. While anecdotal, two times is a trend. I rated the interview difficult because the interviewer seemed guarded and gave vague responses to my questions. The questions asked of were so broad that it was difficult to respond succinctly, let in the right direction.
