I was very excited to apply for this role. Unfortunately I was disqualified, likely on a language basis. The phone interview was great, I did two of these and was set up for language testing for English and the second language I am learning. I was told They'd call me when they had set up the hiring event in about two weeks. The language tests were fairly easy- the English lasted about 4 minutes and my Portuguese test lasted about 3 minutes. I had applied to the position understanding it was more crucial to be fluent, yet not required and I let them know I was in the process of learning as an intermediate student of Portuguese. The entire process took about 5 weeks from first phone call. I called about one week after the language tests to follow up with someone in HR who was very nice and informed me they had yet to set up a date for the group interviews in Calgary. I called on the two week deadline and left a message but was greeted within 1 hour of my phone call, a rejection letter. Overall the questions are service based and typical, the HR department is pleasant to deal with. Figured I'd get a shot at the in person interview based on years of customer service management experience with leading Canadian companies and extensive time living/ traveling abroad as well as an internal reference from AC. I think from this it made clear that linguistics are most important, and an applicant must not be anything but fluent. I intend to apply again and continue developing my language skills. I hope to work with this amazing company soon.
