HR reached out to me after they saw my resume. The role they were hiring for was not a role I had been in previously. However, I took the 30 minute screening call with the recruiter. After we had chatted and I thought about the role a bit, I decided it was not for me. I wrote the recruiter and he suggested I come in and meet the team anyway.... This is where it started to get weird. I had to wait in the elevator bank until someone came to finally get me at exactly the interview start time, this was a bit unwelcoming to start. I had come in between meetings at clients. The HR rep asked me if I had a copy of my resume, I did not because it was the middle of the day and been running from meeting to meeting. This was the first time I had been asked for a resume in 12+ years. He then leaves to go print one out and doesn't come back for 40 minutes (I had nothing to do but watch a small clock on the phone). He apologized and said he got pulled into a meeting. So odd! Leave a candidate sitting there while they are taking time from their work day? I speak with him for about 20 minutes. Then he goes to see if there is anyone else that can interview me that day (despite what the schedule he sent out to me had said). 30 minutes later, someone comes in to speak with me. Didn't introduce himself or his position. Spends about 15 minutes and then leaves. So in a 2.5 hour interview I spent about 30-40 minutes actually speaking to people and the rest of the time sitting idol in an empty room.
