Started with a phone screen with the recruiter, asking basic questions, reviewing my experience, salary, interest, and knowledge in Align. Responsive, friendly, straight forward questions. Onto the hiring manager for a phone call. The manager was 40 minutes late for the call. I reached out to the recruiter who followed up, and then I received a call by the hiring Sr. Director who told me they forgot the time zone change while traveling.( Most calendar apps manage that?) Quick conversation starting with a question, "what do you think the role is" after which I reread the JD. Call scheduled for an hour lasted 15 minutes? Was told that it would be a month + before second interviews, as the recruiter said I was a well-received by the manager but was waiting on lining up all the candidate for a visit. I persisted, and was told the role was put on hold. Revisited but was told no decision, and no follow up on current status. Not a great impression for a senior local professional. Obviously qualified, local with no relocation fees, but it seems the department leader has a problem with the purpose of the role, and or the level of experience and qualifications required for it.
