I originally applied online back in March or April then received an invitation to do an online video interview in June. I would have rated this as a negative experience because, for me, it was incredibly awkward and unnatural. However, some of the weirdness was due to my particular circumstances. I would have done so much better had it been a phone interview or video chat with an actual person on the other side! This was a one-sided video interview. I read the questions and was given a minute to prepare before my response was recorded. Dress the part, even though it is only a video! And make sure that you are in a place with no distractions. Also do not be surprised if you wait for quite a while for a call back. I believe I waited about 2 months. At that point, I had found a job that I was highly satisfied with so I did not pursue the position with American and further.

Applied online took assessment test online one week later received email for a video interview. Taking my video interview today. Any advice from anyone who has gone through the process?!
