      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso American Holt (Norwood, MA) nel mese di mar 2018

      Colloquio

I actually interviewed for this company on two occasions, so I will describe them in chronological order: ----- Out of college I applied for a mechanical engineering position at the company through a job board posing, and also sent an email to an employee there. I was contacted by the hiring manager a week and a half later to set up an in person interview. For the interview I met with the hiring manager and the head of engineering. The interview was a standard discussion of my skills and experience, and afterwards I was given a tour of the building. I was told I would be contacted in approximately 2 weeks if I was selected for a second interview. Three weeks later I was asked to come in for a second interview. I was told that the position had changed slightly since my last interview and I confirmed my continued interest in the position. This time I met with the hiring manager, head of engineering, and president of the company. I was also given a Solidworks evaluation where I was supplied a physical part along with some calipers and I had to create a solid model and a drawing of the part. About a week later I was contacted by the VP of HR and was given an offer. I had just been given an offer from another company as well, and ended up declining the offer from American Holt. ----- Two years later I applied to the company again for a Machine Design Engineer job. I applied through a job board and sent emails to some people from the previous session. Three weeks later, after doing some followups, I was contacted by the VP of HR for a phone interview. The interview was a recap of my skills and experience and a discussion of why I was serious about applying for this position. Following up a week later I was invited for an in person interview. My session was scheduled to be 45min but ended up going a bit over. The interview was mostly between myself, the hiring manager, and the HR VP, but the president and the owner also dropped in for a short while, all of whom were very friendly. The interview was a discussion of my skills and experience in relation to the job, and why I thought this was a good fit for me, given the fact that I had applied for a slightly different job previously. I was also given various samples of parts that the company makes and asked how I thought they were produced, or which features compounded tolerance stack. At the end I was given a tour of the building which had been updated since I had last been there. I also understand that there were three other candidates interviewing for the position that same day. The in person interview was on a Friday and on the following Monday I was told that I and another person had been selected for the position. Afterwards was a background check and reference contacting . The last step was a signed offer letter.
