      Colloquio per Software Engineer

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Apna (India) nel mese di mar 2022

      Colloquio

I was referred by a friend and the recruiter scheduled meetings with the director of data science and director of engineering (community) . Due to my math background they were trying to push me towards data science. I am a fresher with zero experience. I was more inclined to backend roles than a data scientist role. After few days they scheduled my interview for a backend software engineer role.(community). The first round was problem solving and it was easy. I could solve both the questions effectively. 2 hrs after the interview the hr informed me that I have cleared the first round. I scheduled my next round 10 days later. After 3 days she informs me they froze their hiring for 2 weeks and will contact me when they resume hiring. I reached out to the hr after 3 weeks and she said they haven’t still resumed their hiring and it might take 2 more weeks. At this point I understood that this isn’t going to pan out. Then, 6 weeks after the first round another hr calls me and asks if I am still interested in the role. I said yes and he said he will contact me after talking to the hiring manager since I have no experience. I don’t hear from the 2nd hr for a week and when I call him he said that since I have no experience they do no want to continue with the interview process. I found it ridiculous that they started the process knowing I had no experience and then went back. It shows that they neither value their time nor mine. Pretty pathetic behavior if you ask me. May be since I am new to job hunting scene that I find this behavior odd. If this is the norm the I realize how many people try to get multiple offers and screw recruiters. Once we encourage a system of zero sum game then aspects like being professional or decent are thrown out of the equation.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

1)maximum length substring with non repeating characters 2) check if a sudoku is valid. These are pretty standard and straight forward questions.
