I found out about the job through a friend who connected me with the director who was hiring. We spoke several times through email before I had a phone interview. We talked about the basic requirements of the job as well as some questions they had for me. I explained why I was qualified and why I would be the best for the positions. We were going to follow up in person and go from there.
