It was mainly via phone and e-mails which was professional and pleasant. Than, I was asked to shadow for a day to get the feel for a job. I did and it was totally not for me. They ask you to use your personal vehicle to transport all the heavy equipment because they no longer provide you with a company vehicle that is designed for this type of job. Unless you have more than one vehicle in your possession - you are going to be spending A LOT of unpaid and personal time logging in and out equipment that needs to be de-contaminated every day unless you want to put your groceries in the same place when you put your portable dental equipment. If your patients are not given proper medications prior to their hygiene visits - good luck trying to instrument someone (with no help) with involuntarily muscle spasms or transport someone who is hooked to IV pole, in medical bed/gurney or specialized wheel chair. They have to be transported to a designated dental area like a hallway or a beauty shop which provides minimal privacy. Most of these assisted living facilities ARE not equipped with a proper space or plumbing that can properly accommodate you with a portable dental equipment. So, these are a LOT of factors that is beyond your control that can make this job very difficult!
