One month after applying, the recruiter reached out for an initial call. It went well, and I was requested to take a cognitive test. I received the link upon reminding the recruiter a few days later, after the link had - unlike the recruiter's announcement - not been shared with me. I took the test and was given an extension due to my sudden illness. After roughly a week after submitting my test, I never heard back from Avalara. I have no idea if and how relevant the test result was. The only thing I saw is that the job ad now links to a different job opening; a new job opening similar to the one I applied for appeared just to be removed a few days later. Not forgetting the ghosting by the recruiter. Clearly, the intention was only to fill his candidate pipeline. All in all, Avalara is as treacherous in recruitment like any other (tech) company these days.
