You first discuss with a recruiter who then has you provided references before a formal interview with the actual staff you'd be working with. They ask for 5 references and wont accept any less and it's a lot of work to not even get a formal interview with the actual hospital. You will be waiting quit a bit to even get the email to start inputting references and then a quit a bit longer to hear anything back. That's lot of time to waste for an applicant to wait many weeks to just see if they got a formal interview.
