One of the least professional interviews I've experienced. After being told I qualified for a screening interview, it took well over a week before I finally had word from the person conducting the interview to jump on their calendar and set up a time.
Did that. Looked up the person giving the interview. From what I could tell, he had zero UX or design background, so that was a bit of a warning.
"Just a screening interview," I told myself. Just a disaster check.
I arrived 10 minutes early for the Zoom meeting, hung around for half an hour, and was ghosted.
I sent a follow-up with the interviewer. Radio silence for a couple days, and then a very blunt 'you'll have to reschedule online'. No apology for wasting my time or not showing up. Also, I needed to reschedule? Really?
So I sent an email to Braintrust, explaining the situation, and wanting to schedule another time. The response included:
"If there was any urgent reason you could not show up, kindly let us know to assess how the interview can be rescheduled."
Wow.
Anyhow, the interview finally did happen. Very generic "what are you most proud of" kind questions. Zero smiles, very matter-of-fact from the beginning.
A truly unpleasant experience. Not a club I'd like to be a member of. Wish I had that time back.
