      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Buzzards Bay Coalition

      Colloquio

An initial interview with hiring manager quickly after I applied, who was very nice and friendly and indicated a 4-week timeline to fill the job opening. A second interview (described as "final" interview) was held 4 weeks later, in which they indicated a 1-week timeline for a decision, during which they conducted a reference check; one of my references told me that they were clearly set on hiring me. Then I did not hear anything for over 3 weeks, after which they reached out to schedule a third interview with the president of the organization. I was given a time, and only after I agreed to it was I told that it would be in-person at their office, which was a nearly 90-minute drive each way, requiring me to reschedule other appointments to keep the interview time. The president's description of the job's duties, responsibilities, and role within the organization seemed different than that of my previous interviewers. He indicated a decision would be made within a few days, less than a week. It took nearly two more weeks for them to inform me that they had selected a different candidate. I felt my time, and the time of my references, were disrespected. This organization repeatedly gave me timelines for next steps that were blown past. During these multi-week delays, I emailed on a weekly basis to check in and received no responses. The second interview was described as "final" only to not be final, the job description seemed to change from what was on the listing during the interviewing process, During the nearly two weeks in between the third interview and the decision, a different company responded to my application, conducted two interviews with me (while accommodating my personal schedule instead of demanding I conform to their calendar), and hired me. By the time the Coalition finally sent me a rejection notice, I was already hired elsewhere by a company which actually values my time and effort. I feel like I dodged a bullet by not getting hired by the Coalition before my current employer reached out.

      Domanda 1

How do you handle being told no, and how can you persuade people to do things they don't necessarily want to do?
