Take home challenge was extremely work intensive and they wanted me to host it. I spent about 3-5 hours and finished less than half and was told by a recruiter that I had a verbal offer. But then I was told I would still have another interview or two with teammates. The first interview was with someone who had no questions for me, but managed to turn every question of mine into an answer that related to how much he didn’t like his company. It was extremely uncomfortable, so I ended the interview as early as I could. I also have a minority status, and it seemed like he started that interview from a very negative viewpoint so I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because he judged be because of that - I’ve honestly never had someone be that shut off/negative in an interview before, and have no idea what else it could have been unless he was just having the worst day of his life. Never received that offer - but after that interview I wasn’t really interested anymore.
