This was an interview that never actually took place but had been scheduled. I’m leaving a review because I was disappointed in how it was handled. Interview was scheduled for a Wednesday morning at 11:30am. At 8am the morning of the interview, I was contacted by the interviewer telling me that something had come up and that she had to reschedule and asked for my availability for the following week. I was disappointed because this was an interview that I had prepared for and had also made an effort to keep my schedule open during that time. But I also understood that things happen that are sometimes beyond a person’s control. I replied letting her know the dates and times that I would be available the following week, as she had requested. I expected that I would hear back from her that day or at the latest by the next day confirming a date and time. But I did not hear back from her. The next day, I checked my “sent” folder just to make sure that my reply to her had actually gone through, which it had. I decided to send a follow up letting her know my availability and that I was still very interested in interviewing for the position. It has now been one month and I have never heard back. I assume by now the job has either been filled or they decided to eliminate it, but the courtesy of a follow up communication would have been nice. I think companies sometimes fail to understand or appreciate the effort that a candidate puts into preparing for an interview and this experience was, sadly, a good example of that.
