Received an automated email and text to setup a phone screening soon after submitting my application. The recruiter was 15 minutes late and her first question was asking if I currently work for C&D. She then asked how close I live to the office, as if I had been there before. I asked her where the office was and she said "probably somewhere in Minneapolis." She wasn't able to answer any of the questions I had for her about the company or the position - a little odd to show up to an interview being more prepared than the interviewer but I'm going to assume she is new to the company/role. At the end, she said I was a strong candidate and she would be reaching out in the next day or so to set up an in-person interview. I was then ghosted.

The HR screen was scripted, it was clear she was reading from a script and a preplanned list of questions. With that said the HR screener was incredibly nice. I respected that you get an email that you aren't moving on to the next phase, I have found that over the years "business manners" have declined and companies will ghost you even after 3 plus interviews. Although it was clearly auto generated I appreciated the email to let me know the interview process was over.
