Colloquio per Job developer & employment specialist

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Clear Motivations (Anaheim, CA) nel mese di gen 2026

      Colloquio

My first red flag was an immediate request to interview automatically sent after I submitted an application. The catch was the interveiw was for a title that was slightly off than the one I spent time tailoring my resume and answering thorough questions too. Once I make adjustments to meet the 15 minute in person interview and spent gas to attend to - they’ll have you sit in the lobby up to 20 minutes past your scheduled appointment time to realize you are being screened for a position you did not apply for. A lower position with less pay and less direct career alignment. Halfway through the interview I asked to clarify why I was being screened for a separate job title. Without disclosing that the position is not actually open to external applicants , I was then sold to believe this lower level position was more entry level friendly (despite my adjacent experience to the original position), was in the interest of protect my own burnout (?), and was not actually open to external hiring but required internal mobility to support staff buy in to the organization (?!). Additionally the experience being labeled an interview was misleading itself. The allocated time slot is 15 minutes and the 3 surface level questions could not possibly conclude whether a candidate is fit for the position. I believe there was more time from the interviewer speaking about the nature of the position and selling it rather than time I actually shared about my qualifications. Which leads one to question the intention behind the meeting. I left feeling confused and icky. Whether or not they intended it - the entire experience felt manipulative and demeaning. There was a sense for little regard for the applicants experience and more like they need to fill a role. As someone who has a disability themself and has been exposed to the industry of supporting adults with disabilities through vocational work placement - it felt entirely counterintuitive to the mission of the work. There were other less glaring red flags in terms of the environment (the office culture itself did read closely to the negative reviews you can find here and on Glassdoor). Overall, I couldn’t leave the office sooner. I cannot ethically encourage anyone to consider working for this organization based off my experience, intuition and years of professional non profit work history. Even at a true entry level - I would consider another organization if possible.
