      Colloquio

Applied for a Generating Station Clerk position in late 2024. Weeks pass before a recruiter emails me with an email interview which was about 7 questions. I answer the questions, and then a few more weeks go by without hearing anything. Then I get an email telling me that I need to take some sort of a math, reading, and computer skills test that will take 2 hours. They schedule me for the testing, and the testing is done at some weird hole in the wall place that you can hardly find in a shady neighborhood and the “testing center” is a cramped little office with paneling walls and old carpet from the 1950’s that is so small you can barely move around in. Very unprofessional. Anyway, this skills test is like something from a 1990’s temp agency – just so dated with questions about filing in alphabetical order and how to do simple things in Microsoft Word. After I finished the test, I was told I would be sent the test results in a few days. The results are emailed to me, and I am told I passed and that a recruiter would contact me with “next steps.” A few more weeks pass and I hear nothing, so I contact them asking for a status update, and they say that have filled the position. So I wasted my time doing that stupid testing and passing only to not even get an interview. Such a stupid waste of time.
