I’m going to be 100% honest in my review and it will be lengthy. I had high hopes with Delta being the best of the best, but I was unimpressed. The entire process seemed just odd to me. You start out getting separated into groups A B & C which is determined by your last name. You’ll then be guided through HQ and walk into the event day space where talent acquisition and the flight attendants interviewing you are all clapping to welcome you. You then are to mix and mingle while they get ready to send you to your activities. Each activity is roughly 30 minutes in length with a mix and mingle in between while waiting on groups to finish up. F2F: You will be pulled into a breakout room where a current FA will interview you. I was asked 2 situational type questions and 1 question surrounding being flexible, relocation, etc. Hopefully you’ll get a better interviewer then I did because mine had absolutely 0 emotion. Never smiled, never laughed, hardly ever looked up and just looked overall disinterested. I piggybacked off of comments they made to attempt to connect with them and nope, got nothing back other then a head nod. Q&A: There were 2 FAs who went into pay, ADAYS, bases, schedules, the bidding process, etc. This is a time where if you have questions pertaining to these topics you can ask, but they also reiterate that you can ask any other FA during the day should you have a question later. I made it a point to ask questions to show genuine interest and excitement for the opportunity of becoming a FA. One of the FAs during this exercise covered commuting and straight up said that Delta does not advise to commute, don’t do it and just very negative in regards to this. It was at this point that I knew Delta wasn’t for me. You’ll also be pulled 1 by 1 to sit in a jump seat and do a reach test. The FAs handling this portion also appeared uninterested and not very personable. I made it a point to make small talk and it seemed as though they were irritated at the fact that I was making small talk. Galley Exercise: This part was the most awkward experience I have ever encountered. There will be a FA & a member of talent acquisition watching, writing, but never talking or offering assistance. Both of them appeared irritated, like they didn’t want to be there and the talent acquisition representative was not very professional in their approach with asking follow up questions at the end. This rep was slouched in their seat, rolling their eyes and just didn’t give off a good vibe. You’ll be split into groups of 3 where you will work together to build a galley cart. They give each of you a sheet to read that goes over the flight details: time, aircraft, snacks, drinks, capacity etc. You are to work as a group to set up this cart based on the information provided on the sheets with no visuals. I’m sure they’re looking for how well you can work together as a team. My team worked very well together, no one over powered anyone and we genuinely all worked well together. At the end you’ll do some mingling before they start their zone releasing. I remember walking up to one FA who was not very friendly. You could tell they were faking their smile and gave 1 and 2 word answers to an open ended question. During this dismissal stage you could see and feel the energy in the room shift completely, like the fakeness of everyone during the day was finally wearing off. The FA announcing how dismissal was going to go could not speak clearly although they spoke loud and clear when it came to not commuting earlier during the Q & A. They say they dismiss in zones to ensure a smooth exit, but it’s a lie. If you get walked out you didn’t get the job. If you’re left after everyone leaves you get the CJO. People who were left to receive CJOs showed up late, were on their phones, didn’t mingle much or ask many questions, looked disinterested, were not in the recommended color of attire and never smiled. The entire day felt like a popularity contest or being picked for kickball where only the “coolest” get picked. They want you to kiss up to everyone in the room when they stress to relax and be yourself. They tell you to congratulate yourself on making it that far to get to the F2F only to judge so harshly on what seems to be who they want to be friends with outside of work. It’s apparent their not going off of qualifications or a candidates ability to follow company directions. Save yourself the trouble and find another airline that will fully value and appreciate you. Just these Glassdoor reviews from current and previous FAs should tell you all you need to know. Overworked, underpaid and not appreciated, no thanks.

You’re on a flight and your coworker isn’t doing their portion of the work. What would you do in this situation and why?

I am currently in the interview process for the FA position and have reached the ODV part of it. Most of the questions are expierenced based, so I would recommend just thinking of the times you have exceeded the customer service baseline before hand.

It’s challenging, but rewarding, remember to answer in star format, and just enjoy the process, think about your why and smile! No matter if you have received a TBNT- don’t let that stop you from your dream…Keep climbing!

I completed my assessment last week, and within the same day of completion, I received a email for the on demand virtual interview. I have the on remand virtual interview to complete. Any tips? What questions did they ask?
