      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Drimify (Edimburgo, Scozia) nel mese di lug 2024

      Colloquio

One of the recruitment team reached out on Linkedin asking for a Graphic designer and within about 2 weeks I had an initial call with him. The first call went well, he seemed friendly, with very relaxed questions which initially gave a false sense of welcoming towards the company. I had looked on Glassdoor and was weary after reading one for the UI/UX reviews as it was a similar role that I was going for. I then had a task to complete, there were many tasks to choose from some of which were huge tasks that seemed way too intense for an interview process. There was even a sentence at the bottom saying you can do more tasks however it just felt like a waste of time to complete anymore than one. I then had the 2nd interview a few days later with the two directors who They seemed okay, not very friendly asking me about experience mostly, why their particular industry. It didn't feel like a conversation more like an interrogation at times, asking for proof by screen sharing every time I said something in a past experience which was a bit awkward as some projects were under NDAs to which he didn't seem understandable about just quite moody and cold. I then presented the task to the marketing director who looked at it without much enthusiasm considering I had spent quite some time on it despite it completing the brief successfully and he asked how long it took me to complete. I then had a 3rd interview which I thought was getting a bit much at this point as it was only a tiny start-up. This interview was more about who I am as a designer, asking interpersonal questions and how I would approach a situation to something. I then received an offer a couple of days after which shocked me as I thought it had gone badly due to their overall reactions.

Thank you for your honest feedback, and we regret that aspects of our process left you with a negative impression. Due to rapid growth and an influx of applicants (200+ for recent roles), we adjusted our hiring approach to assess skills thoroughly. Discussing your portfolio and design rationale is critical to understanding your creative process, but we apologise if this felt overly transactional – our intent was to gauge your problem-solving approach. Requesting multiple tasks was a misstep, now discontinued, and we acknowledge the process felt lengthy. We’ve since refined it to prioritise clarity and respect for candidates’ time. We appreciate your effort throughout the process and wish you the best in your future opportunities. If you’d like to discuss this further, please reach out offline. The Drimify Team
