      Only a phone interview. Caution - They try to hire everyone they interview because they only give you a few months to prove yourself. After that you don't have to get a drug screen, or a real background check because they really don't care what caliber people they hire on as long as they bring in money.

      They will contact you with a phone interview at first. Then an informal interview at a local pub and finally a formal interview in their office. They act as if they generally want to help you move forward in your career but are only truly interested in bringing in new clients that you cold call and set meetings with. They are avid about having at least 10 meetings a week with potential clients and will give you four months to meet those standards as well as bring in clients or you will be canned. Cold calling is the bread and butter to this job which will require you to be there from 6:30 AM to 7 PM with at least 50 calls a day that must be made. They also require you to find those prospects in your spare time and encourage you to work weekends to make those standards. Training is about two to three weeks and they will either ship you to another office across the country for a week or will keep you in training at a larger office, bouncing from person to person. During training you will go through a large thick company manual and you will need to read three books along with it that they provide. +-150 pages a night is the standard on getting through training. Cold call and exploit your friends and family to gain business for Equity. That's the bottom line to them.

      Colloquio

      Thoroughly enjoyed the interview process with Equity, though I was not selected for the Business Development Manager position. The Managing Director, Corey Smith, was transparent about the vision of the company, as well as the Minneapolis branch, and the expectations of the role were clear throughout the entire process. I appreciated the approach they took during the process. First an initial phone call to learn a little bit about me, my career aspirations, and gave me the opportunity to learn more about the role and company. Then, I attended an informal happy hour with the director and a senior member of the sales team, Zach Ross, which I greatly appreciated as it gave me the opportunity to hear it from not only from the head of the office, but also someone who I would be working directly alongside. Towards the end of the happy hour we came to the conclusion that while this role might not be the best fit for me today based on where I'm at with my career, it is what I'm interested in and something we all believed I could be ready for likely this time next year. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the interview process. The passion, energy, and enthusiasm, particularly Corey and Zach's, was infectious and I would love the opportunity to work for Equity in the future. One of the best interview experiences I've had thus far.
